Don't get me wrong, some stress can be healthy because it makes us productive, but there is a point where stress can be unhealthy Stress can come from all parts of your life, including work, school, and home life. Things often get more chaotic when you throw money issues, organizations you're involved in, and anything else life involves.
Here are some ways to destress:
- Pray or meditate to calm yourself. Breathing exercises or yoga can be good, as well.
- Listen to music. I recently have discovered a genre called electro-swing. It is impossible to not want to dance your cares away while listening. It also helps me get things done around the house.
- Take a walk.
- Spend time with friends.
- Say "no" to some commitments, if possible. Obviously, you'll worry less if there's less to worry about.
- Make a list of things you're grateful for.
- Stay away from news and social media for a short period of time. Actually, stay away from your phone, tv, and laptop for a day. Technology is good, but you need to detox once in a while.
- Play with your pets or children.
- Exercise produces endorphins, which will make you happier.
- Eat healthier, and ditch caffeine (easier said than done, I'll admit).
What do you do when stressed? Do any of these ideas help?
