Support Our Troops

Hi everyone! Have you started sharing positivity for Random Acts of Kindness Week? If not, don't worry, here are some more tips!

You can find tips at Eat, Sleep, Be, Here are a few of my favorite things she suggested:

  • Donate your unused airline miles.
  • Take flowers to a military cemetery. My grandpa, who served in WWII, is buried in a VA cemetery at Ft. Leavenworth. We try to leave flowers on his and my grandma's grave at least a few times a year, but we see a lot of graves without flowers. It means a lot to the families and to the memories of passed service members.
  • Send books, magazines, movies, or really any form of media to soldiers overseas. They get pretty bored sometimes. A good site to look at is Booksforsoldiers.com
  • Donate blood for blood drives that go to the troops. I am scared of needles, but I want to do this at some point.
  • Send an email saying thanks.
  • Send instruments. As mentioned earlier, they sure get bored!
  • Take care of a deployed service member's pet.
Also, you can send coupons that are up to 6 months expired to military families overseas. I sometimes do this for my friend, who tells me that the commissary is quite expensive at her base. If you have electronics, you can send them to wounded vets.

Don't forget to share what you're doing on the Random Acts Of Kindness Week facebook page or here below! Thanks for reading!
